During the Air Gauge and Governor Cutoff Check portion of the official pre-trip air brake inspection, wheels are chocked and the engine is started. Within what range should air pressure build and then stop rising (the governor cutoff point)?

nhcdm-s.pdf Section 11M.1.2 - Air Brake Check, p. 11M-3; 49 CFR 383.111(b)(5)

Why This Matters

The governor cutoff controls how much reserve air pressure your brake system maintains before the compressor stops pumping. If it cuts out too low, you won't have enough air to safely operate brakes under demand; if it never cuts out, something is malfunctioning. Examiners test this first because every other air brake safety margin depends on this pressure being correct.
