Regulation
AAMVA CDL Manual, Section 10.2.2 'Loading Procedures,' p. 10-4; 49 CFR 383.123(a)(2)(i) (general topic only); 49 CFR Part 380, Appendix D, Unit D1.2 (Loading and Unloading)
Why This Matters
Controlled, single-file boarding on the driver's signal prevents the exact scenario the danger-zone warnings exist for: students rushing, bunching up, or stepping off the curb before the driver is watching. It also lets the driver keep an accurate count of who has boarded.
