Questions to ask before you choose a school
Every location on this page comes straight from the FMCSA registry, but registration alone doesn't tell you much about fit. A few things worth asking before you commit to one:
- Does their schedule actually work with yours, and is range time separate from public-road time?
- What's included in the price, and what shows up as an add-on later?
- Can they tell you exactly which vehicle you'll train and test in, and does it match the class you're licensed for?
- How do they report your hours, and can you see that confirmation yourself rather than taking their word for it?
A straight answer to all four is a good sign. Hedging on the reporting question specifically is the one worth pushing on, since that's the part that actually gets you to your skills test.
